The bound of heaven and earth is so vast; the species it contained are so assorted. However, as long as it can live, every creature possesses its own space of living. The creatures coexist peacefully under the condition of both competition and cooperation. Survival of the fittest is the only rule of creature’s existence.
In a country, people hoard up to live in the cities, the town and the village where they engage themselves in assorted businesses; however, they all respect their king as the ruler. In the ancient time, the king knew that non-action is the law of nature to manage all things. After setting the law, the king gave all people their full plays, which is the principle of fair competition. So there is a famous remark “the ancient kings ruled over the world by doing nothing, namely, by following the natural course of events.” They imitated totally Tao in handling the state affairs.
In appraisal of the Tao of Nature, we know there are the level of managing and the level of being managed. Hence the different classes, the class of ruler and the class of commons, are formed in the human’s society.
In appraisal of the Tao of Nature, we learn the different duties between Tao and all things. So, the rulers, the ministers and the commons know their own duties respectively.
In appraisal of the Tao of Nature, we learn that the duties of Tao are to balance, to lead and to legislate; so, the duties of the governmental officials are fixed. The officials offer a safe, fair and developable environment where the common people play their own roles as much as they like.
In the appraisal of the realm of the Tao of Nature, we discover that all things find their own space to live according to their need. There is no absolute lack to them. Even in desert where it is very destitute, the creatures also can find the means of survival.
The king’s governance of a country is mainly to give the common people a proper environment to do his job; each has his own specialty to make a living, the so-called craft. Each person with a craft can be competent in an appropriate position, take relative responsibility and exert his talent, which fits the principle of Nature.
The principle enlightens us when we observe the operation of Nature which is under the rule of virtue. Nevertheless, the virtue stems from Tao that is the essence of the universe.
So, it is widely said that the ancient kings stood aside to observe the operation of all sectors after they created a sound environment where people was given full plays. They were selfless. They did not use their power and position to feather their nests.
He didn’t interfere in the professional operation of the technical official. He gave them a full play. Therefore, they operated the society smoothly, without the structure problems.
The King with a composed, tranquil and peaceful heart and his people imitate him. Therefore, the society comes to stability.
It is written down on the book that a man who is proficient in the truth of Tao can accomplish everything. A selfless man without personality of avarice, his heart fills with no self and being flexibility, by doing that even the god and the ghost can’t put a finger in him, not saying any other people. Politicians should mind this.
