Huizi was the ministry of the State of Liang. Once Chuang Tzu planned to make a tour around the state of Liang and pay a visit to Huizi.
The news spread rapidly in the state. Huizi’s lieutenants felt very uneasy. They told him that Chuang Tzu comes here without a good purpose and it is possible to strive for the position of minister against you.
Hearing this, Huizi felt very nervous. He ordered the soldiers in each post to detect Chuang Tzu so that he could stop Chuang Tzu from coming to the capital of Liang.
Three days later, however, Chuang Tzu, like a ghost still arrived the capital safely. He visited Huizi as scheduled.
Seeing him, Chuang Tzu said, “Have you heard a kind of bird called Yuanchu in the south. Every year they fly from South Sea to North Sea for summer vacation.
They regard themselves lofty. They don’t perch on any tree but phoenix’s and don’t eat any fruit but bamboo’s. They only drink pure water.
Once, a crow picked up a dead rat. When the crow was ready to enjoy his delicious food, a Yuanchu flied over him. Being afraid of Yuanchu robbing of the dead rat, he raised his head to shout “ha” in order to frighten Yanchu away.
Huizi, are you afraid that I would rob you of your dead rat?”
